History

No. 3 Bodiam entered service on the 4th December 1872 pulling suburban trains in the London area.

After a chequered history she arrived at Kent & East Sussex Railway on April the 10th 1964 and steam during the 60's and 70's.

On static display from 1977 to 1983 she was then stripped down and refurbished. Further boiler problems in 1986 led to a further withdrawal from service, but after some heavy fund-raising she was again restored and returned to service in 2006.
